Jump to the quote timestamp in a transcript
Zernote returns quote URLs with timestamps so UX researchers can open an interview transcript at the exact second and verify the line in the recording.
What
Search and cards return a URL with each quote. When we know the start time, the URL includes ?t= in seconds.
Open the link and the interview page loads with the player at that moment.
Same pattern from Claude or Cursor: link text is the verbatim quote, target is the url field from the tool response.
Why
Claims need a source. Quotes need a timestamp if you want to verify them in the recording.
Each useful line in a write-up should link back to the recording with a real quote and a tool-provided URL. Link text carries the quote. The URL carries the timestamp anchor.
How to use
- In Claude, ask for search or cards before pulling a full transcript.
- Cite with the quote as link text and the tool
urlas the target. - Click the link when you need to hear the line in context.
- If search is thin, pull a short transcript window, then cite with
interview_url.
Good to know
Links open on zernote.com, the product frontend.
Do not invent URLs. If the tool did not return one, skip the timestamp.
